Cortina d’Ampezzo, Queen of Dolomites, is the only Italian location belonging to the Best of the Alps, an Association that gathers the 12 most beautiful resorts in the Alps.
Thanks to 56 mountain cabins, high altitude restaurants, cable cars and chair lifts it is possible to admire the beauties of the Ampezzo valley 360 days a year. Moreover it’s impossible to miss the magnificent colors of the Dolomites in Autumn.
Various initiatives make holidays with children in Cortina, guests in our B&B, a real paradise. At the open-air Museum of the Great War at Lagazuoi and 5 Torri you can discover First World War history by walking through a breathtaking landscape. Thanks to a variety of trails you can enjoy both walking or mountain biking; also, Cortina holds international sporting events such as Ladies Ski World Cup, Tour de Ski, and The North Face Lavaredo Ultra Trail.
Museo d’Arte Moderna Mario Rimoldi, hosting a large and very important collection of great artists of the XXth Century in Italy is located in center city Cortina. The first Sunday of July Cortina celebrates the “Sagra d’Ampezzo”, and the “Corsa dei Sestieri”, the Competition of the Boroughs, is run: the boroughs of Cortina challenge each other with games of strength and dexterity.
And at the end of August, during a week fully dedicated to music and local folklore, Cortina holds the “Festa delle Bande”, the Feast of the Bands, with the best national and international ensembles performing.
